Depleted u21’s gain creditable away point

1874 Northwich U21’s travelled to Allerton in Merseyside to take on Mossley Hill Athletic. Although on paper it looked like an away banker with 1874 top and Mossley Hill Athletic second from bottom we all know football isn’t played on paper.

And so it turned out to be.

With a severely depleted team showing 7 changes from last week including two debutants (one being a stand in keeper Mark Riding) 1874 were disjointed in the early stages and fell 2 goals down. However through determination and the predatory skills of Adam Whitlock who bagged both goals we managed to come away with a draw.

This keeps us at the top of the league but with games in hand Garwswood are favourites for the top spot at the end of the season. Second place will come down to our next match which is on 30th April (which might be played at the St Luke’s Barton Stadium) against FC St Helens.
