1874 LOSE AT HOME
1874 NORTHWICH 1 v 3 PADIHAM
HALLMARK SECURITY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION Sat 25TH August.
1874 tried desperately to secure their first win of the season but unfortunately they lost out to a strong hard working Padiham outfit who in the end deserved their victory.
Close to the end of an even first half the visitors opened the scoring through Liam O’Neill and just six minutes into the second half the lead was doubled with Neill netting his second goal of the game.
This left 1874 with a difficult task of “getting back into the game” and in reality it was always going to be a tall order and this was proved when the Padiham lead was increased in the 54th minute though Chris Toner.
A goal in the 61st minute from Jack Pritchard did offer some hope of a comeback and a favourable result but in the end it was not to be
