1874 Northwich are thrilled to announce the signing of central defender Ellis Farrar after his release from Stockport County.
Ellis, 20, joins the Greens after a very successful spell at Stockport County, where he joined the Hatters on their full-time programme.
He went from strength to strength in his time there, training with the first team and signing a professional contract. He made a senior appearance featuring in their 3-1 EFL Trophy victory over Salford City.
Ellis spent last season at Finn Harps in the League of Irelands First Division, where he impressed and featured in many team of the weeks where he stood out with his high level of performances.
Manager Chris Herbert said the following about Ellis’ arrival in Northwich: “He (Ellis) is a great signing for us, he adds real quality at the back and we really needed this after Tom Morris’ injury”.
“With Ellis joining it shows a real statement of intent, I expect Ellis to be back in league football very soon, but while he is with us, he will bolster an already strong back line”.
Ellis commented on joining the ‘74 too: “The gaffer called me with an opportunity to play for 1874, and I’ve jumped at the chance. I need to be playing to get back to where I want to be and the ambition of this club and the quality of the lads already in the squad made it an easy decision, I can’t wait to get going now.”
We hope you enjoy your time with us Ellis, we look forward to seeing you in ‘74 colours!
