1874 Northwich FC have now established an U7’s team which will play in Mid Cheshire Youth Football League for next season 2017-18. 1874 Northwich FC U7’s have been placed into the Blue Division along with 10 other local sides. Games take place on Saturday mornings with two 5-a-side matches for each team.

Board member Alex Dickinson, responsible for Youth Development comments “this is a further building block in developing a long term strategy of Youth football at all levels being provided by 1874 Northwich FC . With the current U21’s going into their third season the addition of the U7’s builds on that objective within our business plan. Maybe one day we will see these current 6 year olds turning out for the u21’s and then hopefully the first team.

The squad will be team mascots at the 1st teams friendly with Glossop North End on July 29th at St Luke’s Barton Stadium.

Paul Done a qualified FA coach will be managing the side. Training will be taking place on Saturdays at Rudheath Leisure Centre Shipbrook Road, Rudheath CW9 7EL from 10am to 11.30am. Please contact Paul on pauldone50@yahoo.co.uk or 07562 597474 for further information or email the club at admin@1874northwich.com

Admission charges

Under 16 years (as at 30th July) when accompanied by an adult – Free admission

Concession (16 & 17 years and 65 years and over) – £4

Adult (18 to 64 years) – £6

Season tickets

Information on how to purchase season tickets will be available in the next few days.

Supporters may be aware that it is likely that there will be 23 teams in our League in the coming season.  Therefore, a season ticket is even better value as it would enable the holder to potentially benefit from four free games during the 17/18 season.

As the new 2017/18 season appears on the horizon, the 1874 Northwich Community team are already devising new ways to promote the clubs name and support St Luke’s ( Cheshire ) Hospice.
Once more during the coming 12 months we are delighted to be supporting our local Hospice who do amazing work supporting the people of Mid Cheshire.
Kicking off our support for the hospice this year supporters are invited to join us in the
                   1874 Northwich Extreme Ironing Challenge.
Our unique 1874 Northwich Ironing Board will be make its public debut at the Northwich Carnival, raising interest among the public by promoting the club and its links to our charity partner St Luke’s ( Cheshire ) Hospice. Surely this will be the first time ever that an Ironing Board has participated in the Carnival parade.
1874 Supporter Maggie Coats will be carrying it during the St Luke’s Midnight Walk, just a small matter of 13 miles and a truly inspirational commitment to our link with the hospice.
Appearances at our pre season warm up games will follow as the board makes its way around the North West. On Saturday 15th July the ironing board will travel to Knutsford, by bicycle !!.
But that’s only a starter, following appearances at the likes of Sandbach, Radcliffe and NewMills the 1874 Northwich Extreme Ironing Challenge reaches new heights following our home game against Glossop.
On 30th July 2017, supporters from 1874 Northwich will be climbing Mt Snowdon, complete with ironing board, when upon reaching the summit we will proudly iron an 1874 Northwich FC shirt.
Look out for details of our Justgiving at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/1874ironingboardchallenge promoting the 1874 Northwich Extreme Ironing Challenge as we kick of a new season of support for our charity partner St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice.
If you would like to become part of the 1874 Northwich Extreme Ironing Challenge, and join us in a short walk up a small hill in Wales contact Steve on 07803901794 or email Community@1874Northwich.com.

More than ONE HUNDRED 1874 supporters, players and management attended last evening’s Presentation Evening at Winnington Park to partake of an excellent three course meal, some liquid refreshment (in moderation of course) and to recognise the winners of the awards for the First team and our Under 21 team.

With the cycling event taking place in Northwich on the same day it was a relief that everyone managed to find alternatives routes to arrive on time at Winnington Park Rec

First up to receive their awards were from the Under 21 side:

It was then the turn of the First team and unfortunately two recipients were absent due to prior engagement (a stag do in Spain! and work!)

The Most Improved Player of the season award was announced as JACK LEVER by Wayne Goodison

The 1874 Goal of the Season award was presented by dedicated supporter Phil Whitehead to MATHEW RUSSELL for his stunning goal at Padiham

The 1874 Players Player of the Season award went to MARK JONES

THE 1874 Managers Player of the Season was presented to TOM BAIILEY by Paul Bowyer

Then finally the Main award of the evening – THE 1874 PLAYER OF THE SEASON, as chosen by the 1874 supporters, was MARK JONES and as Mark was absent his award was kindly accepted on his behalf by his Kit Sponsor Gary Halverson

**
As was the case last season the MID CHESHIRE SENIOR CUP made an appearance accompanying all the other trophies and someone was heard to remark “let’s hope it’s here again in 12 months time with another trophy too!!”

Chairman Paul Stockton thanked all the helpers and presented a good few gifts including a bouquet to 1874’s fundraiser extraordinaire TODDY BARLOW (to be handed to Mrs Barlow in recognition of her “allowing” Toddy to fundraise for the club eight days a week!
