From the Dugout with Chris Herbert: Wolverhampton Casuals (H)

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Wolverhampton Casuals, Callum Waters caught up with Chris Herbert to get his thoughts on recent our form, the return to fitness of Joel Jones and Non-League day.

“Since the defeat fellow challengers Brocton back in January, we have only lost 1 game which was our first away defeat of the season at Atherstone Town on a Tuesday night. Which was easily our worst performance of the season. In with that are a couple of frutrating draws which has cost us this season. But it’s fair to say we have had a few stutters, but now is the time we need to get a bit of form going in to the playoffs.
We have seen already this season that we can beat anyone in this league when we have a full squad to pick from. So it’s all about consistency, if we get that from now until the end of the season we will put ourselves in a great position and go in to the playoffs fearless.”

“We are setting up to attack (Casuals) we want the 3 points and nothing less. We had an awful day in the reverse fixture, but we are fully intending to put it right on Saturday.
It’s always important to have all your goalscorers available at the crucial end of the season. Joel scores goals and is pushing for his place and it’s so important that we have him firing on all cylinders until the end of the season. His goals will be crucial.”

Saturdays game falls on Non-League Day and Chris says that “It’s great that we can publicise non-league football this way. It’s up to us non-league clubs to show why non-league football is so exciting and crucial to the local communities. All non-league clubs need the fans to come through the gate to keep clubs going at this level. Hopefully we can get a few new faces coming through the gate and stick around because they enjoyed the football they watched and the crowd around them.”

“The fans have been great lately, the drum and the singing have been good to hear. We need the fans to be like this every week and they never let us down, hopefully we can reward them with something come the end of the season.”
