Injury Update: Scott McGowan

1874 supporters will have noticed that Scott has not been involved in the squad over the last few weeks, after pulling up during a training session. Scott has had a scan and appointments with consultants, and we can now advise that he has sustained a significant injury, which will keep him out of the game for some time.

Scott has asked for the following message to go out:

Hello all 74 supporters

I just wanted to let you all know that I’ve been for a scan and it’s not the news I was hoping for!! I am going to need surgery unfortunately, as I have torn my ACL plus my meniscus. I now have a date for surgery, and it’s given me something to aim for.

This isn’t the end for me, and I’m determined to finish ‘my way’ and not through injury. For now, I’m trying to stay positive during a difficult time for me and my family.

I will see you all very soon.

Up the 74

Scotty

Chris and everyone at the club is in full contact with Scott and we will support him however we can. It has been a very tough time for him, not only because he has not been able to play but also that he has had to take time off work too.

We have no doubt that he will do everything he can to overcome this huge set back. Scott also knows that everyone at the club is sending their love and support to one of our biggest legends.

We will keep everyone updated on his progress.
