As the new 2017/18 season appears on the horizon, the 1874 Northwich Community team are already devising new ways to promote the clubs name and support St Luke’s ( Cheshire ) Hospice.
Once more during the coming 12 months we are delighted to be supporting our local Hospice who do amazing work supporting the people of Mid Cheshire.
Kicking off our support for the hospice this year supporters are invited to join us in the
1874 Northwich Extreme Ironing Challenge.
Our unique 1874 Northwich Ironing Board will be make its public debut at the Northwich Carnival, raising interest among the public by promoting the club and its links to our charity partner St Luke’s ( Cheshire ) Hospice. Surely this will be the first time ever that an Ironing Board has participated in the Carnival parade.
1874 Supporter Maggie Coats will be carrying it during the St Luke’s Midnight Walk, just a small matter of 13 miles and a truly inspirational commitment to our link with the hospice.
Appearances at our pre season warm up games will follow as the board makes its way around the North West. On Saturday 15th July the ironing board will travel to Knutsford, by bicycle !!.
But that’s only a starter, following appearances at the likes of Sandbach, Radcliffe and NewMills the 1874 Northwich Extreme Ironing Challenge reaches new heights following our home game against Glossop.
On 30th July 2017, supporters from 1874 Northwich will be climbing Mt Snowdon, complete with ironing board, when upon reaching the summit we will proudly iron an 1874 Northwich FC shirt.
