Jacson Coppack joins ’74

1874 Northwich are delighted to announce that Jacson Coppack is set to join the club this forthcoming season.

Jacson, 20, came through the ranks at Everton before making the move to Burnley as an U18. Whilst at Everton he made 2 appearances for the Northern Ireland U17 national team.

At Burnley he made 20 U18 Premier League appearances, scoring 1 and assisting 1. He also had a loan move to Ramsbottom United in September 2022, making 3 appearances.

In 2023, he made the move over the Atlantic to Stony Brook University in New York. He made 13 appearances, primarily as a defender, for the Stony Brook Seawolves.

Manager Chris Herbert described his young first signing as “a powerful central midfielder with a good range of passing and [can be] aggressive when needed. He can also play anywhere across the back four.”

Jacson said, “I was welcomed to the club by the positive thinking manager and I’m ready to help the club get back to where they should be especially with the passionate fan base they have. I’m excited to see what the future holds for me at 1874 Northwich”

Chris added, “We are going to be a tight knit squad this season with a tough togetherness mentality. Jacson straight away fits that. His versatility is huge for us. We were very small last season and sometimes we could not cope with the physicality, which we cannot have at this club. So, Jacson adds that height and strength with and without the ball.”

“First and foremost for me he is coming as a central midfielder, but if we choose to play a 4 or a 3 at the back he can play them roles with comfort if we choose to do so. He will be a great addition to our current plans to get the club back to where it should be.”

Welcome to 1874, Jacson!
