IAN FINALISES HIS SQUAD FOR OUR THIRD SEASON
As many supporters will know Ian Street has once again been very busy trying to ensure that his side is well equipped in every department and “ready to go” when the season starts tomorrow. When they visited Barton Stadium last season Gate were denied a victory by an injury time equalizing goal from Chris Lunn after Alex Murphy had given them a first half lead. 1874 also left it late to snatch a 1-0 win at School Road last term relying on a 80th minute Brett Ferguson own goal to secure the three points.
1874 visited the sea side in 2013/14 to play Squires Gate in the League Cup winning 5-1.
In pre season Squires Gate played four games against Fulwood Amateurs, Lostock St Gerard’s, Altrincham and Wren Rovers, winning all four games.

Tuesday’s game will be the first between the two clubs. However 1874 have played the previous incarnation of Cammell Laird in 2013/14 beating them 2-0 in the Cheshire Senior Cup. 1874 returned to Kirklands in the next round if the Senior Cup losing 1-0 to Tranmere Rovers.

OUR LAST PRE SEASON FRIENDLY GAME:
CONWY BOROUGH 1 V 4 1874 NORTHWICH SAT 1st AUGUST
1874 Northwich enjoyed a successful away day win in North Wales last Saturday as they came through a good ninety minute encounter against lively opponents and manager Ian Street will have been well pleased with the performance and perhaps more pleased to know at the final whistle that there were no additions to the already slightly worrying list of injured players.
The goal scorers for 1874 were Steve McNichol, Martin Hill, Danny Thomas and Stuart Tulloch and the longer the game went on the better the team looked overall despite the home side hitting the woodwork on four occasions.
This was a good work out for the players and a good number of 1874 supporters made the trip and were well impressed by the performance and the nice ground at Conwy
