On 17th May 2016 an open Supporters/Members meeting of 1874 Northwich FC was held at Lostock Club.
(A copy of the meeting notes, excluding the Business Plan ideas have been e mailed to 1874 Members previously).

One of the agenda items was the future longer-term aims, objectives and aspirations of the club and how these might be incorporated into the 2016/17 and ongoing Business Plans.
Those present were asked to provide their thoughts and ideas as to what the clubs’ key priorities and aims should be over the next 1, 3 and 5 years.
Feedback highlighted 8 areas that were of importance to supporters and members, these views can be summarised as follows:

Football

Gain promotion to the Evo-Stick League (within 1-3 seasons)
Make more progress in the FA Vase (within 2 seasons)

Future Stadium

Agreement to develop new stadium within 3 years
New stadium complete within 5 years
Identify / quantify costs of running new stadium
Ensure that new ground has ‘mini-Danebank’ to enable atmosphere to be created

Current Ground

Continued improvements to the BS pitch to help players and to reduce number of Postponed games.
Improve / fix the tannoy system
Have a ‘Suggestion Box’ available at home games

Club Governance

Contested Board Elections
Board members to justify their performance
Maintain financial stability
Build relationships with local fan run clubs

Fund raising Commercial

Aim to continue to increase membership of the 300 club
Consider holding a Winter Beer Festival
Investigate possible funding / sponsorship from local industry
Produce Commercial brochure / pamphlet

Raise / Improve the Clubs’ Profile and Community Involvement

Get a shop in Northwich so we have a permanent presence in the town
‘Tap’ into new residents through leaflet drop advertising club’s existence
Keep on emphasising that we are not NVFC
Issue tickets to sponsors / advertisers
Attract younger fan base by issuing free tickets to local schools
Ditto but target colleges, publicise prices, give out fee pin-badges, stickers, wristbands etc
Stage a major event in order to obtain maximum publicity i.e. Regional TV coverage
Offer discounts on admission charges to supporters who have seasons tickets with other clubs

Creative marketing required, especially using Social Media Create youth team structure and get parents involved
Hold ‘Family days’ to attract the next generation of fans
Kids competition in summer holidays
Organise visits to local schools by players
Create ‘Club Ambassadors’ who are then linked to local youth team / school
Enable youth team to ‘walk-out’ with the players at the start of the game
Look at possibly creating a club ‘mascot’ that could go to fairs, events etc

Increasing Attendances

Aim for average attendances to be 300 +
Issue tickets to sponsors / advertisers
Issue free tickets to local schools / colleges
Special promotions / incentives – i.e. sell ‘bags’ of tickets, ½ price family tickets
Develop structured plan to increase attendances

Development of Youth & Ladies Football

Develop a Youth Team structure from U18 ‘downwards’ (within 3 years)

It is clear from these responses that there are several areas – such as raising and improving the clubs’ profile, increasing our community involvement in which there are many common ‘cross-cutting’ aims and objectives.

The Board were delighted about the level of engagement and input from the members at the meeting and the constructive ideas and suggestions that were tabled.

The Board will be trying to ensure that those objectives and priorities that members have told us are of a major priority to them are reflected in the clubs’ 2016/17 and future Business Plans, as well as other wider aspirations and aims that the Board deem as being equally important.
