Race Night | 1874 Northwich F.C.

Race Night

Another successful 1874 Race Night was held at Lostock Club on Saturday 17th October.

An excellent turnout of supporters and players enjoyed an entertaining evening organised by the Social & Fundraising Committee led by Toddy Barlow.  There were 8 races run, which for a bit of variety included one with piglets and another with afgan hounds, the latter causing the most laughter on the night.

In addition, an ‘auction race’ was held with each horse sold to the highest bidder on the night – this created alot of good humoured rivalry between tables and also some mischievous bidding to encourage higher bids (particularly from the players!).  The owner of the winning horse had the last laugh as he received £90 as the prize.

The total amount raised was a fantastic £987, which all goes to support the football club.

Thanks to the organisers and all those who supported the event, including those supporters who couldn’t attend on the night.

We look forward to the next one.
