The coaching team and I are made up with the squad we have finally assembled. It has taken a long time to do and we appreciate everyone’s patience while there have been a lot of ins and outs since pre-season.
Obviously after last season it was so important that we cleared out and started again, so we could get the right players in to take the squad to better levels who we trust and can improve as players and ourselves as a coaching team.
Unless something remarkable happens and someone special comes available or a terrible run of injuries, then we won’t be looking to do anything else in the transfers. This team is the team we trust to take us to at least the play-offs this season.
As you will see in the squad list we are stacked with quality now, and we really are excited by this squad. It has a good mix of youth and experience.
We have 6-7 lads out on dual-reg getting experience ready to come back when the time is right.
We have a very close bunch of lads in the changing rooms and this will show now.
It’s now time to settle everything down and get the team and shape how we want it moving forward for such an important 3 and half months and at least 15 games (dependent on Cheshire Senior Cup games).
It’s been a very frustrating few months where we just have not been able to get a regular team out, I’m pretty sure we have only picked the same team twice this season, which is not ideal. But we have still come out of it in a very strong position.
It’s now time as a club to really crack on and go take each game by the scruff of the neck and show the same passion that we have shown early on in the season.
We need that kind of run again to pressure the sides currently above us and catch up on games. And see where we are at then.
One thing that is for sure, it’s going to be exciting in the second half of the season and the lads will not let us down.
