Supporting Joshua Tree at the AJ Bell World Triathlon

Next Sunday, 09 June 2019, 2 teams representing 1874 Northwich FC will be competing in the A J Bell World  Triathlon at Roundhey Park Leeds.

We are not hardened triathletes, just reasonably active individuals who have decided to push ourselves  to support the clubs charity partners Joshua Tree http://Thejoshuatree.org.uk

The great work that Joshua Tree do provides a much appreciated and needed support service to families who are having to deal with the effects of childhood cancer. Not only during treatment, but supporting the families for years afterwards, both practically and emotionally. This is vital work that is additional to the amazing services provided by our superb NHS.

Joshua Tree have operated from a small office in Northwich whilst fundraising to enable them to build a bespoke support centre, this facility is now in the early stages of building and 1874 Northwich look forward to supporting the charity during the next phase of their development.

On Sunday the 1874 teams consisting of John and Maggie Coats, Steve and Deb Richardson, Tim ( he fixed the “patch” ) Johnson and Karen Harvey will be entering the Standard Relay event consisting of a 1.5km swim, a 36.2km cycle and a 10km run, culminating in a finish in Leeds City Centre.

Please support the “athletes” and help us raise funds for Joshua Tree by donating at  https://www.justgiving.com/1874NorthwichFC-Community

This is not an event to take on lightly and all the participants have been training hard, we intend to enjoy it but the main focus of doing this is to continue the tradition of our great club in supporting local charities and working together with our local community.

Look out for updates and bulletins on here and the clubs other social media channels and Thank You in advance for your support.
