1874 Northwich U21’s 1-2 West Kirby & Wasps U21’s
In a team showing just two changes from last week, (Jacob Williamson and Jamie Pasquill replacing Kieran Pearson and Zac Whelan) the U21’s took on West Kirby & Wasps in what was their first home game of the season at Moss Farm in the U21’s Cheshire league.
1874 were under pressure straight from the kick off against a quick and efficient Wasps side, however it was 1874 who created the first chance of the game when Jordan Leah headed just wide from a Williamson free kick. However we were left to rue missing this chance as Wasps took the lead soon after and made in two very quickly following a defensive error.
Wasps continued to press and threatened to put the game out of reach and 1874 were relieved to hear the half time whistle.
The manager’s half time team talk had the desired effect as 1874 dominated Wasps in the early stages of the second half pulling a goal back through the substitute Taylor Kennerley who finished calmly on the hour.
Jack Williams pulled off a great save soon after to keep 1874 in the game and although 1874 pressed for an equaliser that their play deserved Wasps held out to claim the victory.
Next up is a fixture away ay Rylands this Sunday kick off 11am.
