1874 Northwich are excited to announce the signing of central midfielder, Ben Guest, from Cymru Premier side, Newtown AFC.
Ben, 21, started his career in the youth ranks at Shrewsbury Town. Since then, he has been at Shawbury United, Guilsfield, Newcastle Town and has Midland Football League Premier Division experience with Whitchurch Alport.
Ben has been training with us for the last few weeks, as he awaited international clearance from the Wales FA.
Chris Herbert remarked on his newest addition:
“Ben is a high-energy box to box midfielder. He left Newtown in the Welsh prem and went to sign for Telford United, but the move fell through which is our gain.”
“He has already shown in his short time with us, before his clearance come through, that he will give us that extra energy, and as I keep saying, competition for places is strong and each player now is good enough to take any player in their positions place. That is what we want and Guesty does add that extra bit of something different and we are looking forward to him bedding in with us.”
Ben added:
“I’ve really enjoyed training with the lads these past few weeks, the coaching staff have been great and the sessions are quality.”
“There’s a good buzz around the club and the fans create a great atmosphere both home and away. Now my international clearance has gone through, I’m excited to get going by bringing goals, assists and leadership to the team, and helping us continue the recent fantastic run.”
Ben goes straight into today’s match day squad to face Dudley Town.
Welcome to ’74, Ben!
