The Club wishes to quickly end speculation that has surfaced on the 1874 Independent Forum regarding our player Craig Farnworth.
Our Football Secretary became aware of an issue over the number of suspensions that Craig had received for the season and immediately contacted the Cheshire FA and the North West Counties Football League, with a view to working with both organisations to resolve the situation. 1874 Northwich FC has fully complied with both the FA and the League and subsequently, Craig has served the appropriate suspensions. Following a very productive meeting with representitives of Cheshire FA on Tuesday 1 April, the situation was brought to a conclusion and we are pleased to advise that no further action will be taken against the Club. The details of this meeting will be forwarded to the NWCFL to aid their discussion at the next monthly Management Committee meeting, however the Club has been assured that a points deduction will not be the outcome.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank both the Cheshire FA and the NWCFL for their guidance and support in what has been our first administrative challenge as a new Club. We are pleased to have been given positive feedback and look forward to working with both organisations in the future.
