BACKGROUND
1874 Northwich Community Football Club is a fan owned and run football club in Northwich, currently playing at Townfield Lane, Barnton, Northwich, competing in the Premier Division of the North West Counties Football League at Step 5. The clubs fundamental objectives are to play attractive football on the field, offering opportunities for our senior teams and juniors of all ages and abilities to play and enjoy football. Alongside this, we endeavour to provide significant support and benefits to our local community.
Volunteers support a democratically elected board and play a significant role in how the club operates. We actively engage with fans via social networks.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Commercial Manager,
Location Barnton, Northwich
Salary: commission on sales at a rate to be agreed.
Hours of work: This is a part time role, flexible to suit the commercial manager’s availability. During the football season (August to April)) attendance at Townfield Lane on match days is preferred and attendance at 1874 Board meetings will be expected as and when required.
Reporting to: Chairman, Steve Richardson
JOB PURPOSE
The commercial manager is expected to maximise commercial income to the club, through:
Advertising/sponsorship: match day programme, pitch side hoardings, club website, team wear, match sponsorship and player sponsorship
Maximising Gate income
Use of facilities: external function/meeting facilities, bar etc.
MAIN DUTIES
Maintain and develop relationships with key local organisations to maximise commercial sponsorship and advertising revenue.
Develop and implement innovative community awareness/community involvement strategies to maximise gate income.
With others, engage with press and media to publicise games and events.
Liaise with other club officers (Press Officer, Programme and Website Editors and the leagues commercial officers to ensure the club is adhering to advertising and sponsorship obligations
Develop online sales channels for tickets and other club merchandise/services
Other relevant and reasonable activities, as required by the Chairman or the 1874 Board.
