Matchday information – FA Vase Sunday 7th Jan.

ISSUED BY THE BOARD OF 1874 NORTHWICH FC

1874 NORTHWICH v PONTEFRACT COLLIERIES: FA VASE 4th ROUND
SUNDAY 7th JANUARY 2018, KICK OFF 3.00PM

MATCH ARRANGEMENTS

As previously advertised, Witton Albion have kindly offered to stage our FA Vase 4th Round tie with Pontefract Collieries at Wincham Park on this coming Sunday.

The Board and key volunteers have met with representatives from Witton to discuss the staging of the game and we thought it would be helpful to our own supporters and others who are intending to watch the tie to provide some information regarding the match arrangements.

Car Parking – Supporters should park their vehicles in the designated car park which is situated at the Northwich ‘end’ of the ground. Only players and officials should use the car park that is situated directly behind the main stand. We would ask for your co-operation in this matter.

Social Club – The Social Club will be open from 1:00pm and we’d encourage all fans to show their appreciation to Witton for their kind gesture in offering to stage the game by using this facility. In addition to the ‘usual’ selection of beers, lagers, spirits and soft drinks, the club usually stocks at least two well kept ales from the Tatton Brewery.

Please note that as per FA rules, no alcoholic drinks can be taken from the Social club into the ground. We would respectfully ask everyone’s co-operation in ensuring that this requirement is complied with.

Entrance to the Ground – There will be no direct access from the Social Club into the ground. All spectators will be required to enter the ground via the turnstile block between the car-park and social club.

As usual, two turnstiles will be in operation.

As we are hoping for a ‘bumper’ attendance, we would ask all our supporters if they could make their way into the ground for around 2.40pm at the latest. This will hopefully avoid long queues building up at the turnstile and ensure that you get into the ground prior to kick-off.

Food & Beverages – The ‘Tea Hut’ is located immediately adjacent to the turnstiles and will be selling a wide range of hot & cold drinks and food (i.e. Burgers, Chips, Hot-dogs, Peas etc) as well as the iconic Birtwisle’s pies!

Again, we’d encourage all our fans and members to show their appreciation to Witton by purchasing food and drink from this facility.

Programmes / 50/50 Draw Tickets / ‘Goalden Goal’ Tickets – These will be on sale as usual both in the Social Club and inside the ground. The BIN will also be attending its first-ever ‘away’ game and the team board will also be at the ground.

Extra-time / Penalties – If the game is a draw at the end of 90 minutes, a further period of 30 minutes extra-time will be played. If the game is still level at the end of 120 mins, the tie will go to a reply. This will take place on Saturday 13 January 2018, kick-off as usual at 3.00pm. If a replay is required, this will result in our scheduled home league fixture v AFC Liverpool being postponed.

Guests / Officials – Any guests or officials should report to the dedicated entrance and they will be directed to the Boardroom

Match-day Volunteers – All supporters who undertake voluntary duties on match days are asked to turn up for a short briefing in the social club at 1.30pm.

Paul – Immediately prior to the kick off, one minute’s applause will be held in honour of our late and much missed Chairman.

Paul’s family will be in attendance and his Grand-children George and Emily will be mascots. Paul and Cyn’s eldest son Chris will also have 70 green and 4 black Helium filled balloons to release before kick off

We have also created a ‘memory book’ and this will be placed it in the social club before and after the game so that supporters can to relay their thoughts about Paul to his family.

Given the circumstances, there is little doubt that it will be an emotional afternoon for everyone associated with the club. We’d just urge everyone to try to get to the game and give the lads in Green their full support and backing and hopefully cheer them into the next round – which is what Paul would have earnestly wished for.
