The U21’s resumed their league campaign last Sunday at fellow NWCFL side Burscough.
With Burscough currently lying third in the league table a tough encounter was expected but with the sides having drawn earlier in the season 1874 had nothing to fear.
In an evenly contested first half 1874 recovered well from an early goal after 5 minutes to equalise through Aiden McGloin’s direct from free kick.
Half time 1-1. In what seems to be the story of 1874’s season so far a number of great chances were missed whereas Burscough took theirs and ran out 3-1 winners.
This result leaves 1874 8th in the table with 8 points from 10 games. This Sunday 1874 travel to St Helens who lie in 10th place four points behind so maybe a chance to gain some points?
