U21’s move up to second place in league

The U21’s travelled to St Helens last Sunday to take on FC St Helens U21’s . With us sitting in third and FC St Helens one point behind in fourth a close game was in prospect.

So it proved to be. In spite of playing into the strong wind 1874 took an early lead through Taylor Kennerley but using the wind to their advantage FC St Helens soon equalised and then made it 2-1 until Jake Bayley levelled for 1874 just before half time. Kicking with the wind second half 1874 were confident of taking control of the game and so it proved with Dan Giddins scoring the decisive third goal. Chances came and went but 1874 claimed all three points to move into second four points behind the leaders Garswood United.
