Josh, aged 24, joins from fellow NPL West Division rivals Runcorn Linnets after spending last season at City of Liverpool. Towering at 6ft 7′ tall, Josh scored an impressive 21 goals last season including one against 74′ at Townfield in February this year.
The forward has worked his way up through the divisions, his goal scoring exploits in the lower leagues caught the eye of many on social media with some spectacular finishes doing the rounds in recent years.
He made the step up to Burscough in the North West Counties Premier division scoring 13 times in the first 3 months of the season and picking up 5 man of the match awards for his performances.
Josh then took the move up a level to City of Liverpool and hit the ground running, he scored twice on his debut against pace setting Leek Town, going on to score 8 in the NPL West Division.
After deciding to leave Runcorn Linnets and becoming available, Wayne Goodison and Paul Bowyer wasted no time in making a move for the forward.
Wayne had the following to say about our new signing:
“We’ve looked at him for 12 months and like the way he plays. Once we knew he was available we both felt that he was someone we wanted along with our other forwards to give us more attacking options”
“After we spoke it was clear he was keen to join and the whole thing moved really smoothly.”
We will catch up with Josh in the coming days and weeks.
All at 1874 Northwich would like to offer a warm welcome to Josh, and we look forward to seeing you in action.
