1874 Northwich joins all other clubs, outside of the ‘elite’, in showing our huge disappointment over the decision to alter the format of the greatest domestic cup competition in the world, without full consultation from the whole football pyramid.
The FA Cup brings magic, engagement and significant financial benefits to so many clubs and for a decision to be made by the few, based on their own interests, without full regard to the implications on the wider football family, is disrespectful and out of tune.
We urge the FA and the Premier League to reconsider and hold meaningful discussions with all organisations at all levels within the game.
