The newly formed 1874 Northwich U21’s began their Cheshire U21 league campaign on Sunday with a well deserved draw against Egerton U21’s. 1874 had the upper hand in the early stages despite going a goal behind when Egerton broke from their own half and took the lead against the run of play. 1874 soon equalised through Elliott Watkins who showed determination to shoot home from a tight angle. 1874 were continuing to dominate Egerton and deservedly took the lead with a well taken goal by Mark Napier-Hemy. HT 2-1. The second half was a bit cagey and Egerton managed to capitalise on some poor defending from 1874 to equalise at 2-2. There was still time for 1874 to have a goal disallowed for offside as well as test the Egerton goalkeeper but they couldn’t break through.
