1874 Northwich Strengthen Defence with the Signing of Adam Hughes.
1874 Northwich Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of centre-back Adam Hughes, who joins the Greens following his spell with Vauxhall Motors.
Hughes arrives at Townfield Road bringing valuable experience at Northern Premier League level and adds further steel to the 1874 Northwich defensive unit ahead of the promotion push.
A commanding presence at the back, the Birkenhead-born defender is known for his aerial strength, physicality, and ability to organise those around him.
The 27-year-old began his footballing journey in the Tranmere Rovers academy before establishing himself in the non-league game. During his time at Vauxhall Motors, Hughes became a regular fixture in defence, earning a reputation as a reliable and committed performer who thrives in competitive environments.
Adam Hughes counts Premier League opposition under his belt too, featuring famously in the Marine side which hosted Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup third round in 2021.
“I am made up to get Adam in!” Said Chris
“Adam was with marine when they played Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham in the FA Cup a few years back and has played for TNS and Vauxhall Motors experiencing success”
“I’d like to thank Danny Holmes at Vauxhall for helping us get it all sorted so quickly”
Everyone at 1874 Northwich FC would like to welcome Adam to the club and wish him every success in 74 colours.
