1874 U21’s took on local rivals Rylands at Moss Farm on Sunday. With Rylands sitting just above 1874 in the table and the relegation zone just below, ’74 needed a win to boost their season.
1874 started brightly and took the game to Rylands and went 1 up after just 10 minutes through Jordan Henry Even though we were we controlling the game ’74 could not get the second goal that they deserved however bang on half time George Jones popped up to make it 2-0.
However Rylands came out strongly and took the game to 1874 and soon pulled one back. Panic seemed to set in in the 1874 defence and it was no shock when Rylands equalised. Credit to 1874 who stuck to their task and were rewarded with what turned out to be the winning goal following a smart finish from debutant Josh Winthrop.
