1874 Northwich are delighted to announce the signing of experienced forward Courtney Duffus, who joins 1874 Northwich from Kidsgrove Athletic.
The 30-year-old brings a wealth of experience from across the professional and non-league game, having spent much of his career playing at EFL and National League level.
Duffus began his footballing journey with Cheltenham Town before joining the academy at Everton in 2012. He progressed through the ranks at Goodison Park, helping Everton’s youth sides to silverware, including the Premier League U18 title and the Premier League 2 title. He was also named Premier League Under-21 Player of the Month during the 2015/16 campaign.
During his time with Everton, Courtney gained his first taste of senior football with a loan spell at Bury, before making the move to Oldham Athletic in 2017.
A loan spell with Irish side Waterford proved particularly fruitful, with Duffus finding the net 10 times in 25 league appearances.
He returned to England and joined Yeovil Town, where he enjoyed an impressive two-year spell, scoring 18 goals in 57 league appearances. He subsequently moved to Bromley, scoring five goals in 18 appearances before earning a move back into the EFL with Morecambe.
Courtney’s career has also seen him represent Stockport County, Barrow and Hartlepool United, as well as spending time with Macclesfield and Bootle before his move to Kidsgrove Athletic. He was also capped three times by the Republic of Ireland Under-21s, scoring once at international level.
Now, Courtney makes the move to 1874 Northwich, bringing with him considerable experience, a proven goalscoring record and years of playing at a high level.
With 15 goals in 30 starts last season at Bootle, he is a proven goal scorer at this level.
Everyone at 1874 Northwich would like to welcome Courtney to the club.
Welcome to 1874, Courtney!
