BEADLE LEAVES 1874

1874 supporters may have seen the news this afternoon that last season’s top scorer Matty Beadle, has signed for Evostik League side Colne FC.

Since the end of last season, Matty has held talks with Manager Ian Street and Assistant Paul Bowyer.  They were both fully aware of his situation and therefore today’s news was not a surprise to them nor does it alter the plans they were making.

Following today’s announcement from Colne, Matty has asked that his thanks be passed on to everyone at 1874.

“Leaving 1874 has been a difficult decision because I have really enjoyed my time at the club” he said.  “Like most players, I would like to test myself at a higher level and Colne have offered me that opportunity.  They are a good club and this move feels right for me at this stage of my career.
I want to say a huge thank you to Ian Street and his Management Team for giving me the opportunity to play for the Club and for their support.  I would also like to say a massive thank you to the Board and the ’74 supporters, who have been fantastic towards me. 1874 is a special football club and I wish everyone the very best in the future”.

The Club would like to sincerely thank Matty for all his efforts in the green shirt. We wish him, and Colne, the very best in the Evostik League.
