Club Statement: Steve Richardson Steps Down

1874 Northwich wish to announce that due to health reasons, club Chairman Steve Richardson will step down from official duties with immediate effect.

Steve unfortunately suffered a stroke last week, but is now back at home, and under medical advice will be stepping away to focus on his recovery.

Steve joined the board in 2014 and took on the role of Community Development Officer in 2015. He was elected as Chairman in 2020 and has worked tirelessly in the role ever since.

Vice-chairman Richard Stockton has agreed to take over responsibilities as acting Chairman and Treasurer John Coats will take over as acting Vice-chairman.

The board would like to thank Steve for his immense commitment and dedication over the last decade of service to the club. We are sure that all at the club wish him a swift and full recovery, and look forward to seeing him back on the terraces very soon.

We have organised an Owners meeting for Thursday the 4th of April at Townfield, starting at 7:30pm. This will give us the opportunity to inform members of the club how we will be moving forward. This will include details of our search for a new first team manager, review of the year and plans for next season. If anyone has any questions, these can be raised at the meeting, or emailed to fanengagement@1874northwich.com.
