Saturday sees the boys kicking a football about again as the 2023 pre-season programme begins with a trip over the border into north Wales and sunny Rhyl. Kick off is 2.30pm.
1874’s opponents will be C.P.D Y Rhyl 1879, who play in the Ardal North West League – the third level of the Welsh football league system.
CPDY Rhyl finished last season in 3rd place in the table with 59 points from 26 games leaving them eight points behind the champions Denbigh Town.
CPDY Rhyl was formed in April 2020 after the dissolution of the original Rhyl FC (formed 1878) earlier that month.

1874 have played at Belle Vue on one previous occasion when they faced the original Rhyl FC in a pre-season friendly on 20th July 2018. Scott McGowan and Callum Gardner scored in a 2-0 win.
