LEGENDS DAY – SUNDAY 30 APRIL | 1874 Northwich F.C.

LEGENDS DAY – SUNDAY 30 APRIL

Arrangements are coming together for our Legends Day on Sunday 30 April.

Initial team sheets are drafted!  Whilst we’re still waiting on further confirmations, we know the following guys are going to be involved:

Matt Conkie; Paul Connor; Lee Duckworth; Mike Aston; Craig Farnworth; Dharius Waldron; Adam Bailey; Neil Chappell; Ryan Stewart; Stuart Wellstead; Sam Hare; Rick Bailey; Jack Woolley; Mike Brandon; Tom Bailey; Sam Hind; Danny Meadowcroft; Lee Jackson; Sam Hare; Mike Koral; Scott McGowan; Matty Russell; Rory Fallon; Jack Pritchard.  Plus, some of our current legends are joining in Tony Aghayere, Joe Woolley, Matt Woolley; Callum Gardner.

There are a few names that are missing.  Ryan Mitchell is playing in a local cup final, and Danny Thomas is unavailable sadly.  Others like Matty Ward, Matty Beadle, Dilan Lomas etc now live a bit too far away to get back on the day!

And whilst he is currently injured, we have it on good authority that Phil Coffin will be along to see us.
Go orrrrrnnn Phil!!!

It will be free entry on the day however we will be collecting donations for St Luke’s Hospice, in memory of Mark Craig.  Mark was the husband of one of our Walking Footballers (Kathryn) and he was also a coach with Barnton Juniors.  1874 continues to support St Luke’s because we know it is an absolutely wonderful place, which touches so many local lives and makes difficult experiences for patients and their families, that little bit easier through their care and support. Please, if you can, support our collection in memory of Mark and many others that the Hospice has helped.

The day will start at 1pm with our Juniors and then Walking Footballers taking part in football sessions.  The legends game will kick off at 2.30pm.  There will be an all day BBQ and the bar will be open.   We are also bringing in a bouncy castle, so the younger children (and Neil Chappell perhaps) will be able to have extra fun!

Let’s get behind our fantastic legends, as they have given us so much to cheer about over 10 years.
Work is ongoing to issue a 10th Anniversary publication.  We are currently gathering up statistics, memories and images so if you do have any fantastic pictures that you could share, please let us know.  It should be a cracker!
