Well, his talents must have caught the eye a few weeks back as a goalscoring rival player has become a very welcome new squad member here at 1874.
The transfer has gone through for forward Mackenzie O’Neill to join up with 1874 Northwich from Prescot Cables this week.
We caught up with him to find out what it was about the project here that convinced him to join.
He said: “As soon as the club showed interest I jumped straight on it. The way they play football – an attacking type of play and possessive play suits my style so it was a definite yes.”
That attacking threat was very much clear to see for those in attendance at the Prescot vs 1874 fixture last month.
“Looking back, it probably wasn’t nice scoring against you but maybe that’s what impressed the management and what’s got me here,” quipped our new man.
“My aims are to score and assist as many as possible and climb the table. The players I’ll be playing with can really help me do that.”
