1874 to support the Mid Cheshire Food Bank

The Club is delighted to be involved in an initiative to support the Mid Cheshire Food Bank.

The idea to collect food and toiletries at one of our games, which was initially discussed on our Independent Fans Forum, is now being moved forward by loyal supporter Phil Burgess.   Phil is being supported by 1874 Board Member Steve Richardson (Community Projects) and Jo Rafferty (Mid Cheshire Food Bank). Arrangements are being made for the collection at our game on Saturday 21st February, when we play Silsden at the Barton Stadium.  This will be a ‘one off’ event for now, with the possibility of repeating it in the future.

MCFB will be grateful for any donations of ‘in date’ food (not fresh) and toiletries but at present have a need for:

Milk (UHT or powdered), Sugar, Fruit juice (Cartons), Sponge pudding (Tinned), Tea Bags, Instant Coffee, Tinned Veg, Tinned Meat, Tinned Fish, Tinned Fruit, Jam, Soap, Shampoo, Tooth Paste.

If you are not able to make the game but would like to donate, then please let Phil know or alternatively contact the Club (secretary@1874northwich.com 07975 670624) to make the necessary arrangements.  Any individuals or businesses wishing to donate cash are welcome to do so.  This will be passed on to the MCFB to purchase items.

The Mid Cheshire Food Bank is one of 400 in the country.  Its purpose is to provide emergency food to families in need.  Further information about the MCFB can be found on their website   http://midcheshire.foodbank.org.uk/

The Board would like to thank Phil and his fellow volunteers, for their efforts on behalf of our Club and hope that people attending the game on 21 February, will support this important project.
