Dear All Supporters,
Firstly, on behalf of the board and the management team, I want to thank all of you who contributed towards our 2024-2025 Boost the Budget Scheme, which raised almost £9,000. Once again this was a fantastic response from our supporters and we are very grateful for your ongoing support.
As you will all recall, there were a significant number of player departures at the end of the 2023-2024 campaign. Chris was faced with a task to not only rebuild the squad, but to also bring in the right players who would help us return to playing attractive, winning football after a difficult and disappointing year.
Chris worked tirelessly to make that happen and funds raised from the Boost the Budget Campaign directly contributed towards this. Despite what was an excellent campaign last year, we lost in the play-off final to Shifnal Town and now face a second season in the Midlands Football League Premier Division.
Like with any off season, a club goes through personnel changes and this summer is no different at 1874. There have been departures and new faces will arrive. We are absolutely thrilled with the lads who have chosen to stay and we are excited about who Chris will bring in over the coming weeks.
Like last season, we are expecting the Midlands Football League Premier Division to be competitive. There will be a number of teams hungry for success and we are no different after the outcome of last season and with our stated ambition to ensure we are pushing as hard as we can on the field.
To that end, we have decided once again to reach out supporters and will be running a Boost the Budget Scheme for the 2025-2026 Campaign.
Chris Herbert spoke on the scheme:
“Boost the Budget is so important for the club. It allows us get the extra that we may need in a certain positions, or even just lets us keep the squad strong.”
“It’s another great way of bring the players closer to the fans.”
The scheme is open with effect from 1 July 2025 and details on how it will work are included below:
How does it work?
