1874 Northwich are excited to confirm the signing of former Chester winger, Rhain Hellawell.
Rhain, 25, joins the club after spending the second half of last season with Ashton Town.
Rhain worked under Chris Herbert and Steve Burr at the Seals, but was later handed his first team debut by Jon McCarthy.
Following his time at Chester, Rhain had spells with FC United of Manchester, Bury, Runcorn Linnets and Widnes.
Rhain commented on joining the club:
“I have a lot of respect for the fan base at 1874 Northwich, constantly singing and cheering the lads on.”
“After I spoke to the Gaffer I knew I wanted to be a part of his plans. After training with the lads, I could see the quality we have. I just can’t wait to get started now and settle in with the lads.”
“I will give everything I have in every single game and hopefully create and score goals at the same time.”
Chris Herbert praised his newest addition:
“Rhain is a great lad, his attitude towards joining us here at 1874 Northwich was different class and the lad will add so much energy to us.”
“He had a nasty ACL injury and operation, which set him back over the last year and half, he played the second half of last season for Ashton Town to get back to match fitness and is now back and raring to go.”
“He will add pure energy and is an exciting player to have with us. I have seen a lot of him play and he suits the high energy we need to improve on last season. His link up play is good and he is an intelligent player who finds himself in good areas around the box.”
“Whether we have him out wide crossing, or cutting in from the opposite side, he will add a lot to us and feed the strikers. Our wide men are what we have been looking for and Rhain certainly fits our player description for that role. With him, John McGrath and Fitzy, we have players on both sides that attack and do it with pace and quality.”
“He has shown he is going to be a great fit as a person and a player at ’74, so we look forward to him being a big part of whatever we can achieve this season.”
Welcome to ’74, Rhain!
