1874 Northwich are thrilled to announce the signing of experienced forward, Dale Jennings, following his departure from Flint Mountain, subject to league approval.
Dale, 32, came through the youth ranks at Liverpool, before crossing the Mersey to Tranmere Rovers where he made 32 senior appearances, scoring 6 goals.
In 2011, Dale swapped sunny Birkenhead for Bayern Munich; featuring 36 times for the reserve side.
2013 saw Dale return to England with Barnsley in the Championship, followed by a brief loan spell to League One side, MK Dons. Over his two seasons at Barnsley, Dale made 51 appearances and netted 6 times.
Following the conclusion of the 2014/15 season, Dale returned to Milton Keynes, but only featured once in the EFL Cup, before taking a break from football.
Dale returned to football with Runcorn Town in late 2018. Dale had a brief spell with Prestatyn Town, before returning to Runcorn Town. Whilst at Runcorn Town, Dale played under current manager, Chris Herbert, and alongside head coach, Mark Reed.
In October 2021, Dale moved to NPL West side, Prescot Cable, where he featured against ’74.
Another career break followed for Dale, before joining Flint Mountain this summer.
Chris Herbert showed his delight in his newest recruit:
“Dale is a big signing for us, I know Dale well and how he suits us with our style of play, he will add to what already is a very strong front line.”
“He knows the game, he is direct, and retains the ball really well, it’s our job as coaching staff to get him firing on all cylinders and enjoying his football.”
“When he is happy and enjoying it, he is unplayable and we will reap the rewards and the fans will enjoy watching him.”
“We have lost Will Arnold who has signed for Newcastle Town from Leek Town after a short spell on dual registration and we have lost Haydn Cooper also.”
“So, it’s imperative we keep a strong squad and replace accordingly.”
Dale commented on joining the club:
“I’m glad to be signing for 1874, everything fits well for me to get going again.”
“I already know Herbie and Mark Reed from my Runcorn days and I’ve played against Steve Burrs Chester team a few times, so they all know what my game is about.”
“I just can’t wait for training and meeting the lads and my first game.”
“We need to go on a run now and move up the table again, we want to do everything we can to try and get promotion and that is our aim.”
“I’ve heard a lot about how good the 1874 fans are and I just hope I can help give them something to cheer about.”
Welcome to ’74, Dale!
