First Team Assistant Manager – Steve Burr

1874 Northwich are delighted to announce that Steve Burr has been appointed as assistant manager to Chris Herbert.

Steve, a hugely respected and vastly experienced figure within non-league football with an enviable CV.

He enjoyed a successful playing career, starting at Stafford Rangers, but moved to a very successful spell with Macclesfield Town in 1984, becoming their top scorer, and netting a hat-trick in an FA Cup match.

His career in management started at Nuneaton Borough, moving then on to Hucknall Town winning the Northern Premier League title in 2003/04.

He then moved to a successful spell at Northwich Victoria where he became a household name within our town.

He also had spells at Kidderminster Harriers, Chester, Southport, Stafford Rangers and Hereford. Moving out of the hot seat more recently Steve has held scouting roles at Fleetwood Town and Hull City.

It was at Chester FC where Chris Herbert worked under Steve in a coaching and recruitment role. The two will now link back up at Townfield this coming season.

We are delighted to have you here Steve and look forward to having you be a part of our rebuild in the 2024/25 season!
