From the Dugout with Chris Herbert: Shifnal Town (A)

Last Saturday was a big wakeup call for ’74, if they want to do well in this division. Chris Herbert commented on the performance:

“We were awful, everything we did just never come off, the players didn’t perform to the high levels we have set. And it was an eye opener to us that we missed our experienced players so much. But on the flip side, to have 5 of our normal starting 11 missing is a big ask for any team at any level.”

The Viola will be looking to bounce back this afternoon, but the tough test of Shifnal Town awaits.

“We already know that Shifnal Town are a top team in this league and are currently in a false position in the league. If we are anything like last week they will beat us comfortably. We can’t afford to carry players in this fixture. We have to be at it today.”

It has been a busy week for Chris with new player signings (more details to follow shortly). Chris explained his need to strengthen the team’s attack:

“It is no secret that we have not been ruthless enough. We are keeping teams in games at the moment when we should be out of site. This will change no matter what but we need it now.”

“Eddie Frempong has gone to Barnton on loan, he needs minutes and if we can help Barnton out at the same time then that’s great for everyone.”
