1874 Northwich face another tough task tonight as they are set to face an in form Stone side who currently occupy 2nd place in the Midlands table.
The Greens are coming off the back of an FA Cup scalp, and Herbert is urging his players to go to war again this evening as they look to continue their 100% record.
On Saturday’s performance, Herbert said “We went behind to a rare mistake from Mike Shorthouse, and then we switched off for their 2nd goal.”
“Apart from that I think Mike only had two real efforts on target, but they were a good team who will only improve.”
“It was a great result and defensively we were warriors and would not accept anything but a victory.”
1874 Northwich are the only Midlands Premier League side with a 100% record intact, and whilst it is still early in the season, Chris is challenging the side to keep that going for as long as possible.
“We keep doing what we are doing and take each game as it comes, keep doing our homework on our opponents and let the lads go to war to get the points back to Northwich.”
“I expect a very tough game that will be close, they have started the season on fire and are 2nd for a reason. If we can beat them then that means we have maximum points against the top three.”
“The atmosphere around the place is unbelievable at the moment, we need to keep performing to keep that atmosphere. There is a real buzz around the Town about how we are playing and long may it continue. We need all the help we can get to win this game against Stone which will set a statement of intent to the league if we can have 3 points against each of the top 3. It’s on us to do so now.”
