1874 U21’s made the short journey last Sunday to take on Frodsham U21’s. having beaten Frodsham 5-1 in the reverse fixture only three weeks ago hopes were high of another convincing victory.
They were not disappointed. In a totally one sided affair 1874 were 7-0 up by half time and by the time the final whistle was blown putting Frodsham out of their misery the final score was 11-1. The only disappointment to both the team and the management due of Josh and Alan Hoare was the failure to keep a clean sheet.
Goal scorers were Chad Lowe with 5 taking his tally to 16 in 14 starts, Taylor Kennerley with 4 (12 in 10 starts ) and Jamie Mountford and Andrew Stubbs picking up one each.
Team Millington, Hoare, Slack, Whelan, Moore, Kennerley, Clayton, Mountford, Giddins, Stubbs, Lowe, Sub Leather
The win temporarily lifted the team to 2nd in the U21 West Division but with Blacon’s win over Litherland later in the day meant 1874 dropped to third 4 points behind the leaders but still to play them home and away.
Next up is an away fixture this Sunday against Ashville U21 based on Cross Lane in Wallasey, 11am kick off. We drew the home fixture 3-3 so this should be a tight affair. Ashville currently lie 8 out of 10 with a playing record of 5 wins 5 losses and 1 draw.
