1874 supporters will know that over the last few months, Kyle has not been able to be play due to an ongoing illness. It is with huge sadness that the club must advise that Kyle has needed to take the heart-breaking decision to end his football career. This decision has been made, following the medical advice that he has been given.
Kyle has asked that the Club send out the following message
“I would like to thank all the lads that I have played with at 1874. I have been in contact with them and have told them what a very special set of guys they are and what a fantastic dressing room we have. I would also like to thank Wayne Goodison and Paul Bowyer for giving me the opportunity to play for the club, for listening to my moans but for enabling me to love my football.
The biggest thank you has to go to all the fans, who made me feel so welcome from day one. I will never forget seeing so many supporters in ‘Kyle masks’ at the game, that was a special moment, it certainly lifted my spirits. The banter during my time at ’74, has been outstanding and I will always appreciate the relationship I have had with the supporters, I always tried to give my best in return.
Football has been my life and as everyone will appreciate, I am completely devastated but I have to be sensible and listen to the advice of the experts. 1874 is in my blood and I will be at games as much as I can and will stand side by side with the fans. Thank you so much to everyone”
On behalf of everyone at 1874, I would like to send our love and support to Kyle at this hard time for him. We completely understand that this is the only option for Kyle, which is a very hard one however we are very pleased that he will remain involved with our Club. He is part of our 74 family.
