Lee Duckworth | 1874 Northwich F.C.

Lee Duckworth

Following a number of discussions between Lee and Manager Ian Street, Lee has taken the very difficult decision not to register with 1874 for the coming season.  The Club respects Lee’s decision and it is accepted with great sadness.

Manager Ian Street said “I have spoken to Lee at length about how I saw his role developing at the club, in a player/coach capacity.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to offer him the same amount of time on the pitch in the coming season.  Understandably, Lee wishes to be involved in every game and has therefore decided to have a look around for other opportunities.  I know this has been a tough call for him.  I am obviously very disappointed to lose Lee on a professional and personal basis, he has always done an excellent job for me both on and off the field and we have been good friends for a number of years. However I am pleased to say that Lee has left on very good terms and I wish him the best for the future”.

Lee has asked the club to pass on his grateful thanks to all 1874 Northwich supporters for their wonderful and unstinting support to him over the last two years.  He said that this decision was the most difficult one to make, as his time with 1874 had been fantastic and he will always appreciate the great banter and good feeling he received from the terraces.  He wants supporters to know that he has left very amicably and wishes the club well, as it continues to grow.

The club would like to sincerely thank Lee for his significant contribution over the last two seasons and wishes him well in the next stage of his playing career.
