1874 Northwich are thrilled to announce the signing of exciting young forward, Eden Bailey from City of Liverpool.
Eden, 20, started his career at Port Vale, where he made 2 senior appearances, once in EFL League Two and once in the EFL Cup. During his time at Vale Park, he had a loan spell at Newcastle Town, where he played against ’74 in our 1-0 victory in March 2022.
In the summer of 2022, he made the permanent move to Altricham. Whilst at the Robins, he had two more loan spells in the NPL West, with Hanley Town and Mossley, before moving to the latter permanently.
During the 2023/24 season, he made 30 appearances in the NPL West for Mossley, Clitheroe and Hednesford Town, in which he scored 4 goals. In the summer of 2024, he joined recently relegated Atherton Collieries, where he scored against West Didsbury and Chorlton in the Lancashire Senior Cup.
During October, he made the move to fellow NPL West side, City of Liverpool, where he made 7 appearances.
Eden is also the grandson and son of former Northwich Victoria players, Terry and Mark Bailey.
Eden commented on joining the club:
“I’m excited to play with such a strong talented side. Having a team like this is always good to come into as they make sure standards and quality is high at all time.”
“New team but familiar faces which is always good to see, it helps you fit in the team quicker and better. The lads are very welcoming and supportive to guide how the team plays and their values within the team. I’m excited to play alongside them.”
“It is now 3 generations of the Baileys which the fans will be excited to see so time to fill my dad’s and grandad’s shoes, I’m sure you will see the similarities but you will also see something new (I’m a bit quicker).”
Eden goes straight into today’s match day squad to face Tividale at home.
It’s great to have you with us, Eden and welcome to ’74!
