The Social & Fundraising Sub Committee is pleased to announce a number of events that will be happening over the next few weeks.
Sports Quiz
Mark Riding has organised a general Sports Quiz to be held at the Wheatsheaf in Weaverham on Thursday 17th April – it is the day before Good Friday so an ideal opportunity for a night out. Teams will be made up of 4 or 5 people with a small entry fee for taking part – all are welcome and individuals will be set up as teams so don’t worry about coming on your own.
World Cup Sweepstake
A great opportunity to make the World Cup even more interesting and to help raise funds for the Club – you may even win a cash prize! A total of 496 tickets will be available with each having a different combination of two countries taking part. The winning ticket (£250 prize) will have the two teams that reach the final, and there will be five runners up prizes of £40 for the other tickets that have two teams that reach the semi-finals. Tickets cost £2 each and will be on sale for the final two home games of the season in April (Widnes on the 21st and Holker OB on 24th).
Snowdon Climb
Along with other Supporters’ run Clubs and Trusts, 1874 will be taking part in Wrexham Football Club’s 150th anniversary event to climb to the highest point in Wales on Sunday 29th June. The day enables supporters to chat with fans from other clubs and also to raise funds for their own club.
Bravely representing 1874 will be John Coats and Mike Cooper – if you wish to support them then there will be sponsorship forms available at home games and events between now and the end of the season. Alternatively you can contact Guy Jewell by e-mail at [email protected] or call the Club on 07975 679624.
Please try and support these events as fans are putting a lot of time and effort into organising them.
