1874 Northwich are delighted to announce the re-signing of versatile defender Lee Jackson.
Lee first signed for the club back in 2017 and has played an integral role on and off the pitch ever since he joined and revealed he is looking forward to the “exciting times ahead.”
He said: “It was an easy decision for me to come back to the club.
“It’s great to be around the lads and also to be a part of the 1874 Northwich running club for the last three weeks as well.
“There’s a lot to look forward to with being in a new league for both us as players and the supporters so I can’t wait to get started.
The FA’s decision to upwardly move the club see’s us play at the highest level in the club’s history, and Jackson believes this is a big factor for players such as himself returning to the club.
“It’s a massive factor for myself and others on why we wanted to come back
“This is like what the 20/21 season should have been like and we’re now getting the reward we deserve from everything we’ve done over the last few years.
“Everyone deserves to be here that’s why there’s a lot of familiar faces because we all want to test ourselves at this level.
After missing the curtailed 20/21 campaign, Lee discussed his aims and ambitions for the season ahead.
“My aims for the season, well it would be nice to score a few goals.
“On a serious note, I feel like I have a bit to prove because I wasn’t here last season due to personal reasons.
“I hope I can put in consistent performances like I have done before.
“From a selfish perspective I want to make sure my name is on the team sheet every game this season.
Ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against Cheadle Town, Lee added that the supporters were another factor for him returning.
“The supporters are a huge factor as why a lot of us players are here and is one for me coming back.
“Saturday’s game is something we deserve, and I want everyone to have a smile on their face no matter what happens.
“It’s a return to normality and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again!”
Everybody at the club is thrilled to see Lee re-join ahead of the 21/22 season!
