Liam Fitzpatrick agrees to join the Greens

1874 Northwich are delighted to announce that defender, Liam Fitzpatrick, has agreed to join the club for the forthcoming campaign.

Liam, 23, joins the club from Sandbach United following a great campaign where he played with fellow new signing, Tom Morris, to reach the North West Counties First Division South play-offs. Liam netted an impressive 5 goals in the last season from left full-back, including a brace against Eccleshall. Whilst at the Ramblers, he teamed up with former Green, Harry Cain.

Liam will be an excellent addition to the squad, who will be sure to make an impact on both ends of the pitch.

Liam spoke on joining the club: “From our first chat with the gaffer, it was clear to me that the club was ambitious to achieve promotion and get back to where they belong. This was backed up with discussions of the squad being built and being able to play under an experienced management team, [which] is a journey I’m now excited to be a part of and can’t wait to get started.”

Chris Herbert’s thoughts on his new signing: “Fitzy is someone we targeted a while back, he suits everything we want from our full backs. He has high energy, quick, gets up and down the pitch, and pop up with his fair share of goals. We ask a lot of our full-backs and he is the type we needed to cope with the load we will give them.”

Welcome to ’74, Liam!

Reminder that the Greens are back in action this Saturday with our trip to The New Saints. Match will kick-off at 1pm at Park Hall, SY11 4AS.
