1874 Northwich are pleased to announce that experienced midfielder Chris McCann has committed to sign for the 2024/25 season.
McCann, who joined 1874 last season and made 13 appearances, rounds off today’s signings of McGowan, Morris and McKean. Herbert hopes his experience will support the other players around him, as he continues to strengthen his side for the Midland Football League campaign.
“Chris has huge quality and it is a pleasure to watch him play at times. He will be the man that will dictate the game for us and play the game to the pace he sets.”
“He is great with the ball at his feet and reading of the game is second to none. You can see he has played at the very highest level in the Premier League, and again his experience will only help the younger players that will be coming in around him.”
Despite joining the club in what was a difficult campaign, McCann enjoyed his stint with the club, and hopes to play an important role in a more successful season this time around.
“Even though it never went to plan last season for the club, I enjoyed coming in at the back end of the season and getting to know the lads.”
“With the additions the gaffer is adding, things will only improve. Hopefully, my experience will help the new lads, and with the experience of Jonah and Woolley who are already with us I’m sure we can make a challenge this season.”
