Parker puts pen to paper

We are delighted to announce that creative midfielder Jake Parker has committed his future with the club after signing a one-year deal ahead of the 21/22 campaign.

Since signing for the club back in 2017, Jake has scored 45 goals in 111 appearances and he revealed he is “excited,” to test himself at a higher level.

He said: “We’ve played teams in this division and the league above before and they’ve struggled against us.

“We’re not going to change the way we play and whilst we’re stepping up a league, we’ll be playing on better pitches which is only going to help us.

“I’ve been settled here for a number of years and I’m very happy to be staying with the club for another season.

“If we play at the level we can do week in week out, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see us towards the top few places in the league and being competitive this season.

Parker played an integral part in our successful 19/20 season scoring over 20 goals and Jake expressed he wants to be just as clinical this time around.

“I want to score around 20 goals again so if I do that by the end of the season then I’ll be happy.

“Scott coming back to the club is a massive plus because not only is he a threat in the box, but he is key to our build up play and I think it’s great he’s back.

“Me and Scott have a great understanding of each other’s game and that’s something which will benefit everyone.

Ahead of this weeks Macron Cup final Jake added he hopes he can help “repay,” our fans for their support whilst he has been with the club.

“I hope we can repay you for everything you have done for me and the rest of the club not just this weekend but during the coming season too.

“Keep giving us your all and hopefully it’ll be a very enjoyable season for everyone!”

Our next fixture takes place tonight against Alsager Town with a 19:30 kick off time!
