There is an opportunity for two 1874 fans to take part in a challenging event with supporters from other clubs and raise some money for the Club at the same time.
This year Wrexham Football Club celebrates its 150th Anniversary, and as a result is expanding the annual fundraising climb by their fans to the highest point in Wales, Snowdon. As a fellow 100% supporters’ owned club, Wrexham appreciate the importance of income from such events and are thus limiting the number of Wrexham fans making the walk this year to 150 in order to give 150 other Supporters Trusts or Supporters groups the chance to join them to raise funds for their own Trust/Club.
The walk will take place on Sunday 29th June 2014, and the ascent will start from the Pen-Y-Pass car park up the Miners Track route at 10am. Those taking part will need to be reasonably fit and healthy as at times you are required to scramble up rocks! The walk takes 3 to 4 hours to reach the top and up to 3 hours to descend.
Of course 1874 will be taking part, so if any supporter wants to put their name forward to represent the Club on the walk, or would like further information, then please contact Guy Jewell at a match, by e-mail at [email protected] or call the Club on 07975 679624.
Please note that places are limited to just 2 per club, so some people may be disappointed if more 1874 fans put themselves forward. The deadline for expressing an interest is 16th March as we need to register with Wrexham as soon as possible.
