1874 Northwich are thrilled to announce the signing of Haydn Cooper from Cammell Laird 1907.
Haydn, 31, is a combative central midfielder, who will add aggression and leadership to our side.
Haydn has had spells with Mold Alex, Radcliffe, Vauxhall Motors and most recently Cammell Laird, where he has always been a fan favourite: especially at Vauxhall Motors where he played a crucial role in their title winning season in the NWCFL Premier Division in 2023.
Haydn now makes the switch to Northwich to play for ‘74 and manager Chris Herbert was delighted to land a long term target: “I have tried every season as a manager to get Haydn in with me, I am glad to finally have him on board!”
“He featured against us in pre-season at Cammell Laird, and he was the best player on the pitch that day, he is exactly what we are missing in that area”
“He will give us that bite and aggressiveness as well as being a very good footballer who can see a pass, he can do a bit of everything and has great experience of the leagues around us”
“He is a bit of a throwback and won’t shy away from anything and will command standards from the lads around him. This will up the level of the lads that go in to battle with him.”
We’re delighted to have you join the club, Haydn. We look forward to seeing you in action, starting this Saturday (6th) vs AFC Wolverhampton City.
Haydn’s signing has been helped by the contributions to the Boost-the-Budget campaign and it’s never too late to help continue improving our side and giving us the best chance of achieving what we all want to achieve this season.
