Liam Anderson:
Midfielder
A young energetic midfielder, Liam joins 1874 after a successful spell coming through the ranks at Rochdale AFC. Impressing during preseason with his ability on the ball as well as off it, he scored a wonderful goal at Lower Breck which shows he is also a danger from distance to opposition sides. A player with huge potential and we are delighted to see him join the club.
Alex Davin:
Defender
Alex Davin, a product of the Everton academy college, has agreed to sign as part of the first team squad for the upcoming campaign. A central defender, Davin will be an important part of the squad. Having only just left school, Herbert is hoping the club will progress him as a footballer.
Luis Davin:
Defender/Midfielder
Luis Davin, a highly rated centre back/central midfielder has agreed to sign for the upcoming campaign. Throughout pre-season, he has shown how his fitness and tenacity in the middle of the park will play a major role in Herbert’s squad this season. Welcome to 1874 Luis!
Eddie Frempong:
Forward
A powerhouse of a forward, Eddie joins ‘74 after a spell at Congleton Town. Prior to that he was at the Everton football college. Eddie will offer a different option upfront for Chris with his direct running and strength, as shown in the recent friendly against Witton Albion where he was unplayable grabbing two assists causing their defence problems. We’re glad to have you here with us, Eddie!
Josh Goodwin:

Josh has previously spent time at Leek Town and featured in the latter part of pre-season, primarily as a box-to-box midfielder. He also has a master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning and works as a sports scientist in the Crewe Alexandra Academy.

He joined the Crewe Alexandra Academy at the age of 5 and moved to The New Saints at 16, to complete his scholarship. He has previously played for our U21s and under former manager, Wayne Goodison, at UCFB Etihad. Mark is a strong and creative central defensive midfielder, standing at 6’2” and will be a great asset to the club.
Harvey Rhoades:
Defender/Winger
Harvey, 19, joins 1874 after ending last season with Daventry Town. A product of the famous Aston Villa youth academy, Harvey can play anywhere down the right side, featuring at right back against Barnton and at right wing in the other appearances this preseason. A player blessed with an incredible work rate; Harvey will be a hit with the ‘74 supporters. We’re delighted to have you join our club, Harvey!
Ash Wardle:
Defender
An aggressive and powerful left back, Ash Wardle has agreed to sign for the 24/25 season. Chris has kept an eye on Ash for a year now and is delighted to have him on board. On joining 1874, Ash said “I have had a few chances to play higher in the pyramid over the last couple of years, but now is the perfect time for me. As soon as Chris shown interest I jumped at it. There is good competition for places in my position and we will all push each other. The club is well known where I live and it has a great fan base, I just can’t wait to get started.”
Matty Williams
Forward/Winger
Matty, 18, joins the club after a successful time in the Morecambe Academy, with fellow new signings, Jack McKean and Vinny Wright. Primarily a left-winger or striker, Matty did fill in at left fullback in our friendly against Barnton. He is by far the quickest player at the club and he finished as top scorer for his Morecambe side last season. Over the last two seasons in the Shrimps Academy, he made 41 starts, scoring 19 and assisting 18.
